My name is Bill Clapp (billclapp.com) and I am the owner/operator of CLAPP's CARS along with the help of my wife. Since the age of 15 I have been restoring or building my own cars and airplanes.   I have also been employed by a couple different companies that either did car restorations or Airframe/Powerplant work on aircraft. CLAPP's CARS is a business that I had started in 1994 in Lake Park, Georgia and moved to the current facility in Valdosta, Ga in 1996. The main focus of CLAPP's CARS has been aircooled cars such as vintage Volkswagens, and Corvairs. We have restored many other types of cars such as MGA, MGB, MGTD, Austin Healey, Triumph TR3, TR3A, TR4, TR7, Chevrolet Chevelle, and more. I have built sand rails, Kit cars, dune buggies and customized cars as well.  Check it out in the Auto Service Section.

Although much of my work over the years has been with aircooled cars I also have many years of working on general aviation aircraft with my A&P license.  Along with being a mechanic I am also a commercial pilot and enjoy flying.    I recieved most of my pilot training through Moody Bible Institute's Aviation program (Chicago IL, and Elizabethton TN)  in the early 1990's.   This program is designed to specifically develop "jungle pilot" skills into their trainees.  This experience has help me in the work I do today.  Since then I have continued to built and work on aircraft engines and airframes. In 2004, I finished building my own airplane, a KR2S, N41768,  and currently fly it with a corvair aircraft conversion engine I designed.

For a couple years I dedicated time  in an aviation company, Aeromax Aviation.    Now my wife and I have decided to reopen CLAPP's CARS with the intent on continuing with our love of antique cars but also providing a service to those who want aircraft work done as well.   Check out the Aircraft Service Section.

The Gallery Section will give you a visual tour of some of the cars, engine, planes and more that I have built or worked on over the years.  These may be inspiration for your project or give you insight into our capabilities here at CLAPP's CARS.

On the right side of this page you will find additional links that will send you to various other pages that may be of help to you.  I sometimes have cars or other items for sale in the Classified area.   The Current Projects section is an area where you can see what we are working on.  If it is your project you get an update as to the status.  The SPYDER Engine section give detail about the Corvair Conversion engine that I build and sell.

As time goes on we hope that our capabilities and products will improve and meet the needs of many people. If you have a project that needs some TLC or looking for something in particular please feel free to send us an email or drop us a line.

Thank you.

Bill Clapp
